Day 3: Check Your Heart
“Bear with each other and forgive one another…Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13
Silence (2 minutes)
Quiet your mind and invite God to shine light on your heart.
Devotional Thought:
When we feel hurt, disappointed, or overlooked, the natural reaction is to pull away. Sometimes that pain makes us think the only answer is to leave.
But before you decide, pause and ask: Am I leaving because God is calling me elsewhere, or am I leaving because I am hurt?
It is okay to acknowledge pain. It is okay to admit disappointment. But leaving out of bitterness or offense can cause deeper wounds. Church is full of imperfect people, including leaders, and forgiveness is part of following Jesus.
Checking your heart does not mean ignoring real issues. It means being honest about your motives and asking God to cleanse anything that is not from Him.
Prayer:
“Jesus, search my heart. If I am holding on to bitterness, unforgiveness, or pride, help me let it go so I can follow You clearly.”
Action Step:
Write down one thing that has hurt or frustrated you. Ask God to help you release it into His hands.
Silence (2 minutes)
End in silence, letting go of anything weighing you down.
